The Dekalb County Free Fair usually has some pretty good musical acts during its week run in Auburn. This year we went and saw the band Kasmir, they are a Led Zepplin cover band and they are a credible band to listen to and watch. The show was good with lots of energy. We also discovered the most wonderful walleye sandwich heaping with crispy fish on a sweet warm soft bun, yum, yum. I probably had two to many salt water taffy strips, I love pealing back the wax paper and marveling at the bright sticky dye I am about to ingest.
Work goes on and we will soon begin the race to catch the leaves. We are about to start the big canyon on Lake James should be interesting.

- I promised myself that one day I would relocate and leave behind with some permanence my Indiana roots, that time is upon me. My Florida drivers license captures the spirit if not the exact location of where I want to be. Islandscapes is the result of adventures I experienced in St. Lucia, West Indies where I have worked and played. It evolved into a blog about landscaping which is my profession, travels and the things I spot along the way in life. My career has carried me to southwest FL and I have just started work for a large landscaping company after selling my landscaping business of thirty years. Rolling south on I 75 with two dogs, two cats, a van and trailer, a box truck, a car and three men was just the beginning of my new life. It has been a long time since I worked the dirt in this state and I am excited to make the change.
